The recording

Salomão’s first solo album, Interior is, in his own words, “the record that tells my story so far”.

There are seven original compositions, and several carry the name of what shaped him. Caboclinho Armorial comes from Ariano Suassuna; Grandes Sertões: Veredas, from Guimarães Rosa. Seu Soares e Dona Branca no Forró is for his parents, who took him to the country dances of inland Paraíba and danced with their small son in their arms.

Two reinterpretations complete the album: “Fátima”, by Hermeto Pascoal, and “Desafinado”, by Tom Jobim and Newton Mendonça. Recorded on April 12, 2022, at Theatro Pedro II, the album was toured solo across Europe and acclaimed by the Japanese press.
